Water Temp: No water its a dry dive.

Visibility: Very good but fogs up a bit on the way back up from 50m.

Gas: All the gas you need and any mix you like.

Required Experience: Must be a diver no non divers allowed.

Amenities: Canteen, Toilets.

Site Safety: This site is a low level risk area. Located on a BUPA hospital site, if these guys do not know what they are doing then their is no hope.

Be aware Definitely bring warm clothes for repressurisation back to surface.


Wildlife: Technicians.

Attractions: Feel like you are 10 pints on a friday at 50 m on air. Very good lecture prior to dry dive.

Site Access: Fully signposted and car parking available. If you are feeling flash then there is always the helicopter pad.


Site Description: 


As one of only 8 Cox Category One hyperbaric facilities on the UK mainland the unit can deal with any hyperbaric emergency, including those patients requiring full intensive care support. We are also capable of treating numerous patients at any one time. A team of consultants in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, who have experience in hyperbaric and diving medicine, along with ICU nurses and technical support staff provide cover 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The hospital has the facility to be able to land a helicopter onsite adjacent to the hyperbaric unit providing immediate access to the chambers.

Entry: Duck in through a couple of doors and you can squeeze about 8 in comfortably.

Issues:
  • No colds or head blockages allowed.
